Video surveillance in Serbian law
Main Article Content
Abstract
Video surveillance is not comprehensively regulated in Serbian law. The Per- sonal Data Protection Act opens up the possibility of regulating this matter. In addition, this law applies accordingly to video surveillance. The law on private security is a lex specialis that regulates the matter of video surveillance for the matter of private security. This law needs to be harmonized with the standards of the Personal Data Protection Act, first of all regarding the issue of video surveillance copies. The example of the Austrian legislation has shown the possibility of comprehensively regulating the subject of image recording, which includes, in addition to video surveillance, the taking of photographs. The practice of the data protection regulatory body of Austria has shown the importance of video surveillance transparency.
